Members' Successes

Here are a few of our members recent successes - these are the only the ones I know about- there are many others!!

Sally Goodden (2019)

Sally Goodden has illustrated the book 'Manners Fit for the Queen', by local Chandlers Ford author, Anne Wan.
Sally Goodden has illustrated this lovely 32 page book for pre-school to junior school children.

They are doing a book launch and signing at Chandlers Ford library on Saturday 2nd February 2019 at 10.30am!!

Susie James (2018)

Susie had a wonderful exhibition, The Art of Colour, at Winchester Discovery Centre from the 1st July to 31st July 2018
Susie James produces contemporary watercolour, pastel and acrylic paintings in energetic abstract and semi-abstract styles.
She paints in vibrant colours ; pushing the boundaries of the medium in order to evoke an emotional response to her work.
Susie enjoys experimenting; especially with textural products, inks, bright enamels and gilding.

Gill Brophy (2018)

Gill Brophy had two paintings in the Southampton City Art Gallery 'Four Seasons'Open Exhibition.(3 Feb 2018 - 21 Apr 2018)
Also one of her paintings was chosen for an exhibition at the St Barbe Gallery in Lymington, Hampshire, in their exhibition commencing 23 February 2018.

Angela Sweet (2018)

Angela Sweet, after being awarded the first place prize at the 2016 open exhibition at Southampton art Gallery, She was asked to exhibit again in 2018
Angela got first prize for her bold and detailed papercut In the Spotlight (see below).
She was subsequently asked to exhibit a new series of papercuts, all of which were based on light hearted word play.
These were shown in the foyer of Southampton City Art Gallery in Spring 2018.


Joan Willingham (2016)

November 2016- Joan was admitted as a member of the Association of British Naive Artists
November 2016- Joan was admitted as a member of the Association of British Naive Artists
This association promotes the genre of Naïve Art and encourages anyone who wishes to be creative in any of the visual arts whether it be painting, drawing or 3D art forms. A wide range of styles are represented among the members and this is demonstrated at the three annual association exhibitions.
