Eileen McGeown
Eileen works from her studio on the outskirts of Eastleigh producing watercolour, acrylic, and oil paintings. She studied for her Fine Art Degree in the North of England from 1979 to 1981, she has exhibited and sold her work locally for a number of years.
As a child she loved to have a pencil in her hand and now it’s a paintbrush. She is influenced by light and colour and enjoys understanding and exploring the techniques used in different media. Her current focus is on Still Life which involves understanding light, colour and composition.
After working in education for a number of years she took up her paintbrushes once again and now runs adult art classes at The Dovetail Centre in Chandlers Ford and from her studio. She is currently a member of Romsey Art Group and Chandlers Ford Art Group.
Eileen has taken part in “Hampshire open Studios”, and “The Best of Hampshire Artists”. She has exhibited in group exhibitions at The Mountbatten Gallery, Mottisfont Abbey, and at various local venues.
