One of the outdoor sessions in 2009 was in early May at Hocombe Meads in Chandler's Ford. This is a substantial woodland and meadow area within the urban area of Ashdown and Hocombe. Members of the public were encouraged to try their hand at sketching and painting and several complete novices duly turned up to mix with the members of the Art Group and use the free materials supplied. Some of them have since joined the group.

A mini tutoring session was watched with interest and some of the results of the participants work are shown here.

Saturday May 15th. Hocombe Mead. Meet at the entrance in Ashdown Drive. 10am to 1pm

Thursday 1st July. Bursledon Brickworks Museum. Coal Park lane, Swanwick, SO31 7GW. Meet at 10am. Leave when you want to.
