Usually an annual exhibition, sponsored by local companies with prizes in various categories, takes place over one week in August. A very spacious, airy and extremely well appointed room in the Kings Court Masonic Centre, Winchester Rd, C/Ford provides an elegant and peaceful backdrop to approximately 300 paintings hung on the group's own display stands. Ample car parking and disabled access allows all comers to attend, either during the preview evening, where complimentary wines, soft drink and finger food is served, or from 10am to 7pm every day. Admission is free and the catalogue costs 50p.
Most pictures exhibited are for sale at reasonable prices and there is a portfolio section ie unframed, where cost savings can be made. Several members sell their own range of greetings cards which are displayed on a trade specialist stand.
As in 2007 we are again in 2008 taking part in the
Hampshire Open Studio event, which takes place over two weeks in August, where around 400 artists in many skills open their homes or studios to showcase their work.
