Usually our monthly meetings host a professional artist, demonstrating work in a particular medium or style. This is done live in front of the throng of members and visitors. The various mediums of watercolour, oils, pastels, acrylics, pen and ink and pencils are the most popular. At most of these meetings, there is a painting competition open to members on a given subject, judged by the professional of the evening and attracting a cash prize.

Illustrated  talks with slides or powerpoint presentation also account for the odd evening and the group has held two Rolf Harris inspired "Paint Ins" which were hugely popular.

Often there is a critique for members only and once again a professional is booked to pass on tips and criticism.

Winter workshops with professional tutors are held on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm at a pre-registered fee.

Winter life sessions with male and female life models are held on Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. £2.50 each for members.

One annual summer exhibition is held and also occasional day sales exhibitions in local venues.

Day outings, outdoor painting as a group and other gatherings are organised ad hoc as the year progresses.
